Rory Cariss is an architecturally-trained designer based in London. He completed his BSc in Architecture at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, before gaining experience both as an architecural assistant for Carmody Groarke and as a workshop technician and fabricator for Bloqs, an open-access workshop in north London. He returned to UCL to complete his master’s studies before joining Mitre and Mondays. where he currently works as a designer-fabricator. 

Interested in a broad range of materials, processes and technologies, his work spans multiple disciplines and mediums. His background in fabrication means the act of making is central to his work - where the workshop is not only the site of production but an environment in which to test and develop ideas. He regularly works with a range of clients and collaborators on a freelance basis, both as a designer and fabricator.
